What information do we collect?
Information You Provide – We and our service providers collect any information that you provide when you use the App, including when you login through Facebook, create or join an event, enter text into a chat, enter photo’s into a chat, enter video’s into a chat, enter audio files into a chat or live broadcast in an event.
If you register and/or log into the App using third party single sign-on or social network sign-on tools like Facebook Connect (collectively “SNS”), we will obtain the personally identifying information (“Personal Data”) you have provided to the applicable SNS (such as your name, email address, profile picture, names of SNS friends, names of SNS groups to which you belong, other information you make publicly available via the applicable SNS and/or other information you authorize Fanoob to access by authorizing the SNS to provide such information) from your SNS accounts and use that information to create your account and account profile page. Depending on the SNS accounts you choose and subject to the privacy settings that you have set in such accounts, you understand that by granting us access to those accounts, we will access, make available and store (if applicable and as permitted by the SNS and authorized by you) the information in your those accounts so that it is available on and through your account.
In addition to the information you provide, when you use Fanoob websites may also collect information through our automatic data collection tools, which may include web beacons, cookies, embedded web links, and other commonly used information-gathering tools (“Data Tools”). These tools collect certain standard information that your browser sends to Fanoob such as your browser type and language, access times, and the address of the website from which you arrived at a Fanoob website. They may also collect information about your Internet Protocol (IP) address, clickstream behavior (i.e. the pages you view, the links you click, and other actions you take on the websites) and product information. Fanoob may also use some of these Data Tools in emails sent from Fanoob and therefore may collect information using these tools when you open the email or click on a link contained in the email.
Fanoob may also contract with third-party advertising networks that collect non-personally identifiable information and Personal Data through Fanoob’s web site and emails and on third-party web sites. Ad networks follow your online activities over time by collecting usage data through Data Tools. They use this information to provide advertisements about products and services tailored to your interests. You may see these advertisements on other web sites. This process also helps us manage and track the effectiveness of Fanoob’s marketing efforts. You may opt out of display advertising partners’ targeted advertising using the following links: http://www.aboutads.info/choices/, http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/ if located in the European Union.
Fanoob does not track you across third-party websites and therefore Fanoob does not respond to Do Not Track signals in these circumstances. However, some third-party sites do keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content. If you are visiting such sites, many browsers will allow you to set Do Not Track signals so that third parties know that you do not want to be tracked.
How do we use this information?
We, and our affiliates and subsidiaries, may use the information we collect for a number of purposes, including, but not limited to:
- providing you with products, services, or information you request;
- providing you with information about the App or required notices;
- delivering marketing communications, promotional materials, or advertisements that may be of interest to you;
- customizing your experience when using the App, such as by providing interactive or personalized elements on the App and providing you with content based on your interests;
- allowing us to improve the App and the services we provide, such as by better tailoring our content to our users’ needs and preferences;
- generating and analyzing statistics about your use of the App;
- helping our advertisers and sponsors better understand our users (provided that for such purposes we only use de-identified information); and
We also may combine or aggregate any of the information we collect through the App or elsewhere for any of these purposes, including delivering targeted advertisements that are based on your previous activity on the App.
Under what circumstances do we disclose this information?
We may disclose the information we collect from you through the App:
- to our affiliates and subsidiaries;
- to service providers who work on our behalf and who have agreed to use the information solely in furtherance of our operations, including, but not limited to, service providers who provide real-time messaging services, real time live broadcasting services and deliver real-time sports statistics data.
- to business partners who may deliver marketing communications, promotional materials, or advertisements that may be of interest to you;
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, or to comply with government reporting obligations;
In addition, we may share de-identified reports on user demographics and traffic patterns, as well as de-identified information, with third parties.
If Fanoob undertakes or is involved in any merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or insolvency event, then we may sell, transfer or share some or all of our assets, including your Personal Data in connection with such transaction or in contemplation of such transaction (e.g., due diligence).
The App also may contain third-party links. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for the collection and use of your information by such third parties that are not under our control. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of each website you visit.
Where is this information processed?
Information collected through the App will be processed in and subject to the laws of the United States, which may not provide the same level protection for your personal information as your home country, and may be available to the United States government or its agencies under a lawful order made in the United States. In addition, we may transfer your information outside the United States to our affiliates, business partners, and service providers located in other countries. By using the App, you consent to such transfer to, and processing in, the United States and these other countries.
How is your information secured?
We strive to maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to safeguard the information collected by the App. However, no information system can be 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. Moreover, we are not responsible for the security of information you transmit to the App over networks that we do not control, including the Internet and wireless networks.
The App is not directed to, nor do we knowingly collect information from, children under the age of 13. If you become aware that your child or any child under your care has provided us with information without your consent, please contact us at the contact information listed below.
Fanoob is designed to allow you to live broadcast video in your invite only private live events all around the world.
When you broadcast a video, your broadcast is public by default to the individuals invited to your private live event. This includes the metadata provided with your broadcast, such as when and where you broadcast. When you watch others’ broadcasts, information regarding when you watched the video and any comments or quick reaction emoji’s you make on the video is also public. We delete your broadcasts at the close of the live broadcast and it is not available for replay.
You have to create an account and be invited to a specific live event to watch live broadcasts. You also need to create an account and a live event in order to broadcast live video.
If you choose to create or update an account, you may provide some personal information, such as your profile information, phone number and email address. Your profile information on Fanoob is publicly available and includes your name, username, biography information, profile picture, the people you follow and who follows you, and the number of quick reaction emoji’s you have received.
We use and store information about your location to provide features of our App, such as broadcasting with your location, and to improve and customize the App. We may infer your location based on information from your device. If you have turned on location services for Fanoob, we may share your precise location.
Changing or Deleting Your Information
Managing Your Information.
You may access and update some of your information through your account settings. If you have chosen to connect your account to a third-party application, like Facebook or Google, you can change your settings and remove permission for the app by changing your Account settings. You are responsible for keeping your personal information up-to-date.
Rectification of Inaccurate or Incomplete Information.
You have the right to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information concerning you (and which you cannot update yourself within your account).
Data Access and Portability.
In some jurisdictions, applicable law may entitle you to request copies of your personal information held by us. You may also be entitled to request copies of personal information that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and/or request us to transmit this information to another service provider (where technically feasible).
Data Retention and Erasure.
We generally retain your Personal Data for as long as is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and us and to comply with our legal obligations. If you no longer want us to use your information to provide the App to you, you can request that we erase your Personal Data and close your account. Please note that if you request the erasure of your Personal Data:
- We may retain some of your Personal Data as necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud detection and prevention and enhancing safety. For example, if we suspend an account for fraud or safety reasons, we may retain certain information from that account to prevent that user from opening a new account in the future.
- We may retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations. For example, we may keep some of your information for tax, legal reporting and auditing obligations.
- Information you have shared with others (e.g., reviews, forum postings) may continue to be publicly visible on the App, even after your account is cancelled. However, attribution of such information to you will be removed. Additionally, some copies of your information (e.g., log records) may remain in our database, but are disassociated from personal identifiers.
- Because we maintain the App to protect from accidental or malicious loss and destruction, residual copies of your Personal Data may not be removed from our backup systems for a limited period of time.
Withdrawing Consent and Restriction of Processing.
Objection to Processing.
In some jurisdictions, applicable law may entitle you to require Fanoob not to process your Personal Data for certain specific purposes (including profiling) where such processing is based on legitimate interest. If you object to such processing Fanoob will no longer process your Personal Data for these purposes unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for such processing or such processing is required for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Where your Personal Data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you may, at any time ask Fanoob to cease processing your data for these direct marketing purposes by sending us an e-mail as described below.
You have the right to lodge complaints about the data processing activities carried out by Fanoob before the competent data protection authorities.
